Weekend warriors have a higher rate of injury than competitive athletes! Many of these injuries could be prevented by following a regular sport conditioning program.

Fit to Play Conditioning in ProgressThe mistake most recreational athletes are making is to expect the sport itself to get you into shape. If you play any sports, you should adequately train and prepare for that sport. Proper conditioning for your sport is essential for injury prevention.

Sport-specific conditioning programs focus on strengthening the muscles and joints that perform the complex and repetitive movement during activity.

Why be Fit to Play?

  • Stronger, conditioned muscles mean you will be less likely to injure yourself!
  • Increased stamina means you can spend more time doing the activities you love!
  • Reduced fatigue, soreness and downtime means you will never miss a great day!

3 Main Risk Factors:
There are 3 risk factors that outweigh the rest when it comes to sports injury:

  • A history of injury – Previous injuries to a muscle, or joint tend to develop into chronic problem areas for many athletes.
  • Overuse – Rest and recovery days reduce injury rates by giving muscles and connective tissues an opportunity to repair between activity or training
  • Lack of proper conditioning – Many injuries can be prevented by following a regular conditioning program of exercises designed specifically for your sport.
